What’d you work on today?

Thanks. I assembled things with the bolts I have but I’ll buy longer ones like you posted above.

I bent up new brake lines. Not as pretty as I hoped for but I’ll run it as is for now. The ni-cop brake lines are great. Bend super easy without a bender and doesn’t kink unless you try to bend too tight. Unfortunately the Prop valve has to be clocked out of the way a bit because it hits the inner fender. Not a big deal.

I'm working with mostly "Horse apples".
Supposed to let them season before use but my ground is so bad I'm not worrying about that.
I've been disking in anything organic I can find, leaves, fruit cores, flower stems, spoiled food, .....
Now I've done the manure, adding some sand, compost, and maybe even gravel would be good too.
I think my best rick is going to be driving a steel rod through the hard-pan layer several times to get better drainage.
Good dirt on top will not work if it is water logged.

Okay, looking for opinions.....

I created the new battery tray and have it suspended over the tires, but currently it sits level and wondering should I tilt it forward? It would be purely for aesthetics as the batteries can be mounted in any position.

Wondering if I should tilt it forward to match the pitch of the top deck and maybe give it a more aggressive look, or leave it level?

For me, I’d be fine with flat. If you want an aggressive look maybe add a pro stock hood scoop or drag slicks on back and skinnys up front?

Thats very cool that you converted that thing to electric.

Wasn't going for race look, just what looked "right" to the eye. I tilted it forward to match the deck pitch and it looks better to me like it belongs.

Where’d you get the motor from? I think you said you did that conversion 20 years ago? Your were way ahead of the green movement.

I'd have to look it up, but I did convert my neighbors John Deere mower about 5 or 6 years ago, and he loves the hell out of it. Just turn the key and go. As I recall, the motor (still made today) cost about $750. The majority of noise of the mower comes from the blades spinning. My Dad bought a GE electric tractor in '74 and that thing lasted into the mid 2000s when I couldn't weld the deck anymore (and we'd moved away already by then).
