What’d you work on today?

Changed idle jets in the dune buggy Webers, now it will idle when warm. :)
So now I should be able to complete the carb tune.

Pulled the fuel tank from the MG Midget for cleaning and dent repair, could hardly believe there was still liquid fuel in it.
I think this car sat for over twenty years.
Also pulled the replacement hard line from a parts car.

2013 Fusion's A/C is out. Kid brought it home, I charged it and leak tested it and it is leaking around expansion valve, it was replaced earlier this year. I am going to call the shop that did it and hopefully take it to them one evening.

Busy week...

Saturday, washed the Chevelle and took it to its only car-show of the year. After the show, came home and race prepped for Sunday.
Sunday, autocross all day. 137 drivers - overall finished 7th fastest, and 4th in PAX.
Tonight, I'll replace a wheel bearing on my trailer and load my Grandpa's old tractor up to take to his funeral on Wednesday. He passed last week at 102 years old.

Sorry, been really tied up with moving and getting my house ready to sell.

Sorry for your loss. I hope you spent lots of time with him and have good memories.

2013 Fusion's A/C is acting up again, it will probably end up being an evaporator core, I will do it if it comes to that. Huge job but I am up for it. I gave it a bath today, was going to vacuum it but started raining.

Started out to just do a valve adjustment on the MGB.
Cover was so ugly I just had to strip it to bare metal and repaint it.
Valves get adjusted tomorrow.

Yesterday I swapped out the accelerator pedal assembly & cable in my cousins '69 Corvette. Might be the single most challenging task I've ever completed on any car I've ever tinkered with. I'm not a big guy & there is almost no room to get in there under that dash. To make it even more difficult, his car is an automatic, so the trans kickdown switch bracket needs to be installed at the same time, but there's no room to get a wrench in there. You basically have to contort yourself into a position that would make a circus freak envious & fly blind because it's all done by the feel of your fingertips. My neck & back were in rough shape last night.

At my age and stiffness, I pull the driver's seat before any lengthy work under the dash. I sold my vega because of that exact issue.

Pres tested the VA evap and found I have a leak that Im hoping is 1 of my fittings for the heat, ac side is good so now back out with the under dash unit and I shouldve bench tested first

Been slowing working on a few things for the 67.
I've been trying to create the unobtainable 64-67 passenger side kick panel AC box to evaporator box seal. I think I've got a set up that'll work, keep the cool air where it's supposed to be and the rainwater off the passengers side carpet.

I black epoxy painted some random stuff lately like brackets and headlight buckets. I thought the texture was a bit rough which I think was mostly due to the fact that the parts were sandblasted but I also painted on a sunny day so the paint didn't get a chance to lay out smooth. I also thought they were a little too flat compared to the core support, frame etc which were epoxy painted but also covered with black single stage that has just the right amount of gloss for my taste.
So I scotch brited the items and top coated with single stage. Much better.

I'm thinking of finally cracking open the small suitcase sized box of wiring harness from AAW that I bought 6 months ago and seeing if I can figure out that mess.

Finally got to take my car out today after about a month. I pulled it into the front driveway and went inside for a about 10 minutes.
Looked down the driveway under my car and there was a big puddle? Popped the hood and my fuel pump was leaking?
I pulled back into the garage and put it on the lift. There was a hole in the rubber gas line to the pump.
So, I cut it back and reattached it and off I went. (y)
Now, my wife is working on getting the gas off the new 1 year old driveway.

81 C30 dually.
Trying to use it for one last car transport before selling or parting it out.
"Cost of ownership" is just too high verse the Fun Factor.

Daily driver picked up a staple in one of the tires so the pressure was leaking down slowly.
Old spray bottle full of soapy water found it quickly and I had some tire plugs sitting around from years ago. Good as new - kinda.

Listed the Chevy C30 on FB as parts.
Since it seems unlikely that I would get back even half what I have put into it during Bidenomics I will keep the fresh engine for the El Camino and sell the rest.
Need to complete just a couple of errands first.
Grab the Morris Minor Pick Up project I want/need, and haul the scrap.
Maybe without the truck I will be able to break my habit of getting more projects, and complete what I have.

Completed making new slide blocks for my two-post lift.
To buy they were $400 several months ago, almost certainly more now.
My cost not counting my time, about $150 for materials and a 5mm end mill.

Also removed the for sale ad for my C30 as it turns out I will not be able to buy the Morris Minor PU for another month.
At least that gives me a little more time to scrape up funding.
