1966 Chevelle turn signal switch.

1966 Chevelle turn signal switch. I'm replacing the switch that someone else took apart. I can't figure out how the long steel piece fits in the column. Looks it should protect the wires in the column. I've also discovered there are two different switches for the car
C-2895-4a and C-2895-3A I've ordered both and the bolt pattern is different than mine. The third option has the wrong plug end. Any ideas?

This listing is for one new 1964-1966 Chevrolet Chevelle El Camino 1966 Nova Chevy II 1965-1966 Cutlass and 1965-1966 Buick Skylark Turn Signal Switch without tilt steering wheel. Made in the USA. This turn signal switch is for BPC type switches. Replaces Delco Part #D6200. BPC switches have aluminum body. Double check your switch to see if all plastic or if the body portion of switch is aluminum. If your switch is all plastic you need the guide type. Includes center bearing and grey wire pig-tailed for column shift light bulb if needed. Very nice replacement part.

Please note: GM used two different switches. One was all plastic which is the "Guide" switch item #261146129952 and this one has an aluminum body which is the BPC switch. Double check your switch before ordering to insure you get correct switch. They are not interchangeable. No restock fee(unopened parts only)

Please note: The grey wire for light bulb is pig tailed so if you have column shift it will illuminate the PRNDL. If SS console shift you do not need the grey wire and remove it completely.
