Walnut wheel repo (real wood) - $275

An excellent repo at far below the plastic wheel prices of $400+

From Grant comes an authentic replica of the Chevrolet classic, only better! GM's original wheel used a plastic rim designed to look like real wood, but Grant has gone a step further
and used the real thing. The genuine Mahogany is stained to match the original colors, really setting off your interior. Brushed aluminum style stainless steel spokes complete the look.
Shipped complete with mounting hardware. The wheel has a 16" diameter, with a 4" dish.

KIT INCLUDES: Steering wheel, Horn button , Mounting kit

I love my Grant wheel. Mine is the version that matches '69 Rosewood but is smaller diameter and thicker for a more modern feel... factory wheels are so huge.

Agreed, I love it if this was available in a 15 or 14" version.

However this is a great product for anyone seeking a stock looking original that is less expensive & higher quality than those garbage looking OER repops.

Plus if OPGI is selling it for $260, I'm sure it will be available at other outlets for $30-$50 less.

I ordered one yesterday but it's on backorder. I think it's a new product so I'll post again once it ships.

Thanks for the info, one of these has been on the list for my '68 Caprice for a long time. Hope it comes off backorder soon.

This is a repop of the cushion grip wheel that showed up in 1969 or 1970. It has the composite rubber thin grip. I bought one to use on a project about 15 years ago & wound up giving it to my buddy for his '68 Camaro....it's actually a great reproduction if you're looking for that bone stock look, plus it doesn't start to break down & get sticky over time like the originals did.

This is a Grant Wheel that is 14" diameter and has very little dish that helps with my fat stomach. The nice thing about it is it bolts up to the GM hub used with the factory wood wheels and you can use the GM horn contact kit along with the GM horn Button. Grant mounting kits to me are junk. It looks a little different now but it is #794 wheel. The only thing I wish they had put larger cut-outs on each of the wheel spokes.

You did a great job of combining a beautiful stock interior with custom touches.
I love the BBC cross-flags on the door panels and the instrumentation in the dash without destroying the stock look.
That steering wheel looks awesome !
This is a 70 model ?

I ordered the simulated wood steering wheel on my '67 Chevelle SS and it was gorgeous. A few years ago I scored a similar wheel on ebay (off a Corvette I believe) that was a very close match.
It's amazing what the steering wheel did for my interior for no more that it cost in 1967! This is the only pic I took of my interior, and I'm so glad I have it after all these years!

Thanks, it's a 71 Malibu wanted something different than installing a SS dash in a Malibu. Bought the emblems to mount outside on the body but couldn't find a place they looked good interior needed a little color and that was the perfect place to mount them. Another emblem location car isn't cowl inducted but is a 396.

Hank,

Did you happen to go the car show in Prospect today? I had never been before so I dunno what prior years were like, but it seemed like a great turn out, both cars & spectators. I'd say about 250-300 cars were in attendance. Lots of Chevelles & GTOs & a bunch of oddball stuff including a beautiful '37 Caddy & a rare Hudson pick up truck that was pretty damn cool.

No, I haven't gone to much in the last three years. Both Prospect and Thomaston were some of my favorite shows to go to in prior years. I heard they had around 800 cars show up at Prospect. If you go up there a few cars are already there by 8 am. Thomaston is coming up September 11th from 1 pm to 6 pm and that is a real nice show too. This was a picture of my car at Prospect a few years back.
