Thinking about asking What's Up on this Mustang, I like the 66-70 Stangs this one has Red int and looks like No engine, first body shop my Chevelle was in was owned by a friend of over 25 yrs, he bought a 67 Gt coupe with factory 4 spd and power disc brakes but missing engine & trans so he got a 90's 5.0 & 5 spd. Put a cam in it and got it drivable, did the small amount of body work it needed but couldn't find a hood, he didnt have internet lol, I told him ever think of selling it let me know "Oh No Im not selling it" well cpl months later he sold it on CL for $5K in Tampa, this was in 2016 and I said Why didnt you call me? He said he didnt think of it, I think he didnt want to see it around? Anyway here the only pic I got of the Fastback going there Mon to talk to someone, Oh what you guys think its worth? It looks like very good cond and only maybe missing drive train, its sitting at a Brake World shop

If it has very little rust, it's worth a fortune. And since I would never put a 289 back in it, I like it without the engine.
If you can get it for 20k or less and it's in good shape, it's a steal !
If you don't want it, I'll take it !

The mustangs are seriously overvalued imo, but I still love them. They're seriously week in the suspension, brakes, and steering, but I still love them. If you follow Carol Shelby's track mods you'll solve most of the inherent issues. Add a 347 stroker and a 5 speed, lower the 4 corners 2 inches and clearance for the biggest tires, a 3.55 9 inch, bilsteins, monte carlo bar, escort brace and better cooling and you're ready for some light track fun. I prepped my former 68 cougar in a similar manner, but with an 8000rpm 289 and top loader...lots of grins. Love these cars, but I feel the 70 lost some of the cool features of previous years, side scoops and rear light treatment. To each his own, but personally think a solid 65-69 fastback roller shouldn't run more than 18ish.

It doesn't have a For Sale sign on it but being it's in the corner up front and on a main intersection makes me think it is for sale, Monday we'll find out, I've been saving for another work van BUT if this is a good deal the work van will have to wait lol, friend of mine is really into Mustangs but the Fox body ones ( he owns 5, 1 with Nitro, 2 SC'ed ) so no sense in asking his opinion

'69 is my favorite year Mustang, even like the coupes in that year, but not in any other years.

Rick,
An original Shelby GT350 was appraised at $500,000. Saw it on the latest episode of "Jay Leno's Garage" this morning.
Which means an excellently done clone should fetch $100,000. JMHO
I would build it like Jerry said, with a 347 stroker and 5 speed TKX trans.

My mom had a 67 Shelby GT350 in the mid 70's I think it was really her 2nd husbands and he just let her drive it, I was thinking a Hertz RentaRacer clone but Shelby sounds even better 😁 I had a 70 Mach 1 with 351 Cleveland & 4 spd that was a really good handling car with plenty of power, I screwed up the 360 FE in my 68 F100 and bought what I was told a great running 390 from a wrecked 68 Galaxie but turned out to be a 428 CJ the same time I owned the Mach 1 and almost swapped engines but didnt...Coulda Woulda Shoulda lol

Just for the heck of it I stopped by the brake shop where the Mustang is just to see if it was for sale, mechanic said "We're trying to fix it, owner doesn't want to sell it" I didn't ask what's wrong but assume it's brake related lol, it's a 289 auto

289 auto is a girly drive train.....

My old shop teacher in high school raced one of those roundy round cars at the local dirt track. The old man had a 289 Ford in that thing & whipped everybody's ass!
Well, he was pretty crafty, he said it was a 289.

I know I had to keep my priorities straight so knew that Mustang wasnt going to possibly in my future but I was still curious, I found it a little funny when the mechanic said "We're trying to fix it" I mean WTH? if it's at a Brake World but it's not a brake related problem send it back to the owner "We do Brakes" lol

289 HiPo was a solid lifter cam and IIRC 271 HP that would blow away any factory 283 Except the Vette Fuelie 283 and Im not to sure the Vette could beat a 289 HiPo, an uncle had a completely stock 66 GT 289 HiPo 4 spd that would put you back in the seat really hard, I think the FI 57 283 was 283 hp though and I never rode in one of those
