You guys in Florida ready?

Im hoping the worst is over for our neck of the woods, Duke Energy shut down around 1-1:30 when Nothing was happening...I think they make more $$$ doing that by saving their fuel but still charge us Full Price for the month, Gens been keeping us happy though

Watching some news and Wow what the folks got South of us, Holy Smokes makes our little mess look like a bird nest fell

Ive been here since 72 and been through way worse in Our area than this but getting older makes you not want to deal with any of it, a month pr so ago I asked my sales rep about a Nat Gas whole house gen and didnt hear back and forgot about it so now Im watching my gas Tank because the damn gauge broke an hour ago lol...could be worse

We do have hot water since I ran a cord to tankless gas heater and stove with another cord for elec starter, figured microwave might be too much for the 5500 max 6500 Gen, didnt need the ac since its not that hot thank the Real Big Guy! Pisses me off that Duke shut a lot down, went on a gas run and every station is out, well 6 in my area so got the 8-10 gal of Chevelle reserve 91 Non Eth and brought it home but still have 5 gal of reg to use tonight

You can run the microwave on that genset easy.

Anyone else dealing with this Hurricane? I think we were lucky and only seen Tropical storm winds but maybe more to come? We hope everyone stays safe

I was bringing the 2 5gal gas cans back here from the car and backing down our deadend alley my neighbors 3 sections and across neighbor 1 section was laying in the in the alley NAILS UP, I backed over about 2-3' of fence before I knew something wasnt right, pulled out front then walked back there a luckily my ture marks (Newish Michelins) weren't around the nails...then I see the News and others have completely lost their homes, cars and trucks to flooding so Im counting my Lucky Stars tonight 👍👍

Just checked the Gen and added about a gal maybe gal and a half but thought itd be lower, glad its not maybe power will be back on by sun up

Having a generator must be a great comfort. I live in California so my fear is fires and earth quakes but hurricane Sandy where people went many many days without power convinced me I needed something.

Got a Honda eu2000i because it’s reliable, quiet, sips gas and is big enough to run my fridge.
Storing gas sucks because we can’t get ethanol free gas here so I try to keep a few 5 gallon cans around but also have a tri-fuel conversion kit so I can run off my gas grill propane tanks or my home’s NG hook up.

Good luck. Hope the worst is over for you guys.

My yard looks pretty much the same as last night, watching the news and see a lot of blown transformers so that must be the reason for no power, Im going to check back with my sales rep about a whole house gen for Nat gas

Hang in there Rick!

I have a house propane generator with a 250 gallon tank, fortunately propane does not have a shelf life.

I really like these, they're made for window ac units but good for anything with a compressor IMO, they sure help my 2 fridges
