Replacing the tack strip material on my top frame. I decided the original couldn’t be saved. Looking at ebay listings and not really seeing what I need. I need to replace all of it. Any good sources?

This place on Ebay looks like it has tack strip in several widths and thicknesses.
You could call or email them ?
Oops, it says he won't be back from vacation until Oct 2nd

That’s the stuff I was looking at. Probably work as well and any other I expect?

Yeah. It’s just finding the right size. Not seeing anything thats close. I suppose I could double up.

My brother just went through this, he searched and came up with the plastic stuff as the only option. He didn't want that, and I don't blame him. Took it to the installer and they found something very close to oem and preferred it as well. So, I'd run it by your installer before purchasing.

Well, my installer is me, so I’ll see what he says 😁😅
You are installing by yourself? Much respect. Have you done it before? I don't think I'd even consider it but I'd love to hear your experience with it.
I thought that I heard you adjusted the frame. Is there a manual or how-to about that?
Mine is a manual top and it fit well before but the top is old, stained, back window of so hazy you can't see through it, so a new top is in order. I'm just probably gonna expect to have to bend over and pay a guy to do it.

i was thinking I was going to have a shop do it but I don’t know anyone I can trust. There is so much info out there these days that I think if I take my time I should be able to do a credible job.

Prudent idea. Researching the best way and the best materials to use will likely result in getting a great job done and the satisfaction you know it was done right.

If all of the top supply shops for convertibles only carry the plastic tack strip material,
I have a hard time believing it's not better than the old cardboard type stuff.

That's the trick, don't ask a supply shop, ask an installer and they will usually tell you what they use.

Maybe I'm making it out to be harder than it is. I'm sure there are a lot of internet write ups and youtube videos out there. The company I linked to above says that if you are a meticulous type of person a DIYer can install one. Let us know how it goes. Any pics would be awesome.

Thanks
