It looks to also have an aftermarket frame, with independent rear suspension, too.

4L80 gearing isn't bad at all. It's the 4L60 that sucks.
4L80 has exact same ratios as TH400, plus an overdrive.

Manual trans would be more fun, of course.
Here are my assumptions by comparing the two: (I agree the 4L80 is better, but still, both seem too wide to me, the ratios are only the same in 3rd)

With my 4300 Lb. 70 ( Fake / Fraud SS 468 Nomad Sta. Wgn. ) I have a 700R4 with a 3:07-- 12 bolt. I built it to be my Driver. On the I- State I cruise at 75 MPH in ( electronic servo cruise ) At 75 MPH the 468 is spinning 1950 and ALWAYS 18 to 19 MPG. I have driven it over 66.000 miles since I built it. I am happy with what I have, P. S. The 3:06 First gear is fine with a 3:07 rear gear. I have driven my Fake 70 SS Wgn. to almost every state east of the Mississippi & Canada.
