fuel pump decision mech vs electric

the old mech pump i have on the car right now is really overkill for the 500 hp 454thats in it now and im sure it would do just fine on the 532 thats going in. remember its an allmost 30 year old pump that i can no longer get a kit for. my initial post was about reliability. i need to redo the rest of the lines anyway and was considerably an intank electric

i talked to robbmc today. guess for now im gonna stick with a mechanical pump and upgrade the fuel system a bit. use a dead head regulator with a restricted return

I think that sounds like a good idea. Are you going with their pump and regulator? What other upgrades are you talking?

yes either their regulator or aeromotive and his pump. -8 lines through the sending unit and a return line for the vapor restriction. stainless an and braided line

i was looking to use that holley mat for the fuel tank inlet in place of the sock but although big they are only 15 microns. probably a restriction for a mech pump
