Bigger Front Disc Brakes

I'm thinking about putting a CPP C5 brake & Spindle upgrade on the front of my 68, anyone familiar with this set up? or is there a better alternative? and I did think about Wilwood so any Pros or Cons to either? or what's a better, easier fit solution? I'm all ears and open to suggestions, I was thinking CPP is GM based stuff so local parts stores would carry any parts if I needed something

I think you need 18" wheels for those.
The 2000 Camaro front calipers are double piston and twice the size of stock calipers.
They fit 17" wheels. That's what I have but can't give any feedback on stopping power yet :)
Parts are super easy to get

Will these fit 69-72 caliper brackets?, the thing with the CPP kit it all bolts together not needing to modify (as far as I can tell) anything

No, the 1998-2002 Camaro calipers require this kit ($90 does the front brakes)

The calipers are about $50-$60 each. They have red powder-coated for $100 ea at RockAuto
I would get the new rotors there too- Power Stop drilled & slotted were $75 each
The 2000-2002 Camaro Z28's used ceramic pads. That's what I bought; they work great on the street

Base C5 brakes will fit 17s. Upgrade to Z51s might require 18s... not sure on that.

Face of caliper to back of the spoke is the biggest issue with wheels on the C5s. The caliper sticks out past the mounting surface by about 1/2" (from memory, don't quote me on that!) so you need wheels that the back of the spokes aren't too flat.

Are you planning to improve the geometry of the front end too, or keeping stock spindles and A-arms?

Rick has Torque Thrust II wheels by American racing and I don't think C5's will clear.
This guy talks about doing a lot of grinding and still having problems

I had to run 1/2" spacers when I had some 17" Billet Specialties wheels many years ago for spoke to caliper clearance. The hoop diameter was never an issue though.

I ordered Wilwood Forged Dynalite Big 12.19" Brakes 140-7675-D, I do have tubular upper/lower CA's that are from Ebay that Speedtech replacement spring iso pads were the only brand that fit so either knock offs or ? and proforged B joints and steering rebuild kit, stock drum spindles that I modded for the D52 disc conversion, I'm going to drive it with the brake upgrade before deciding on a spindle change, I had a 76 & 84 T/A's that would stop on a Dime and give change so I probably should have just copied that but got a little frustrated trying to figure what would work with what and where parts are made so just went with a known USA (IMO) brake kit that'll fit & work well....hopefully
