Master cylinder issue...

I use the hand pump one myself and never pump the brake pedal. When I bleed the lines I'll go through over a quart of fluid, but I can do it without any assistance.
 
I use a Mighty Vac and it seems to work like it should and gets the job done, think I got it at Hazard Fright, surprised it still works after installing a POS...PITA Pirate Jack 4 whl disc brake kit, the air comp tool seems like it could pull fluid pretty fast so I'd use very low psi to start, I've never used one though
