Ash tray springs

Hi folks, has anyone had any experience replacing the ashtray springs ? I see how it should work . Coil down or coil up? It looks like there should be a right and left spring, my replacement set are the same spring. I guess that what throws me. Thanks for any info.

I did but it was 12 years ago. They are an under/over spring and a huge PITA to install. Coil goes up in the closed position.

Yes those are the ones . Here’s what I’ve found. One is opposite of the other .
