I don't have any pics since he already sold it but an old friend since 1975 told me last year he was thinking about selling his 64 LeMans Sport with the #'s matching engine on a stand and a rebuilt late 60's or early 70's (I forgot) GTO engine, factory muncie and posi still in the car, straight as an arrow but could use a repaint , factory black with black interior. It had drum brakes all around and last I seen it he had the front spindles apart for a factory disc conv. ( came over and used my torches to knocks some stuff apart) but wanted $12-13K unfinished but it ran just no driving it...well he finished the disc upgrade changed to power brakes but left lines discoed then I guess lost interest from a BIG motorhome entered the pic, well BMH needed some work at the tune of $10K so off went the LeMans for $10K then he called me today and asked about a power line to run from house to RV and also told me about selling the car, I said I'd gave you $10 for the car why didn't you give me a call? He said well I figured you were busy...WTH? been there before too so is it friends don't want to see other friends driving their old cars or something? its happened before on some old Harleys, I'd really would've gave the old girl a good home too, Oh and this doesn't mess our friendship up at all, he still one of my best friends Edit I just remembered 10 yrs ago he sold a 72 Elky for $2,000 that was a nice DD that I said Id be interested in if he ever wanted to sell it lol

Private sales are something else. Even directly asking or saying you are interested if it comes up for sale doesn't do anything. I would rather deal with a person I know than a random person or deal with a reputable company. I was almost burned once on a title issue for a trailer and I don't want to deal with that again.

Yeah I'd rather deal with someone I know too, he's a gearhead & biker that doesn't cut ANY corners on anything he works on (beautiful 1949 Panhead Harley) and thought he would've contacted me when he was going to sell it in Semi drivable (No working Brakes but all parts there) 5,000 miles on the rebuilt GTO engine and every piece of trim, chrome, console and all the interior bits and pieces were there, I don't think the car had ever been in an accident or taken apart other than the engine swap...Oh Well, reminds me of the first body shop where I took my Chevelle, knew the owner of shop since the 80's and he was working on a 67 GT Mustang factory power disc brakes, 4 speed, he dropped a late model Mustang GT 5.0 & 5 spd W/hyd clutch, fixed the few dents it has, no rust but he couldn't find a real GT hood, then sold it for $5K running & driving, I said why didn't you mention selling the Mustang? he said "I didn't think you'd be interested so he sold it on CL to some guy in Tampa lol

Before I bought my 67 in 2005 I tried to buy a 69 Camaro from my Younger Brother
originally a 6 cy with a Awapped in 427 BBC TH400 12 Bolt with 4.56 Rear Gears / the car was a blast to drive on the Street
that was in 2004 and the Camaro had not been driven for at lest 10 years before that / just Parked in his Garage with Junk piled on it
as of today it is still there and has not been started, driven or Licenced

I think it is one of those things where he/everyone does not want to see us enjoy something owned by them thing

That's too bad. Cars are meant to be enjoyed, not parked. Life is so short and if cruzin' gets the blood pumpin', you gotta do it.

I have a few more things to fix (and go through the brakes) on the '64 Olds Starfire Convertible, then she'll be road ready, we'll put the top down and cruze.........

That's a real shame the BB Camaro just sits there, man what I'd give to have that car...Drool Drool

A 64 GTO clone; too bad you missed that one. I would not be happy with him....
It would of been great just left as a LeMans since it came from the factory with bucket seats, console a Muncie 4 spd and posi and he had the orig 326 on a stand, a 69 or 70 400 GTO engine with around 5K miles on it, and it was complete, I'd of handed him $10K cash in a heartbeat, Oh Well

I know what you mean. I talked to a longtime friend last night about some of his 60s and early 70s hi po parts. He will not let me buy anything, and he has a bunch of old parts. I dont get it.

Yeah my friend (since 1975) would drive his stuff every chance he could but in the mid 90's was hit sitting on his 1949 Panhead at a red light by an old guy that didn't see him or the red light and doing between 40-45 mph so my friend ended up with a broken back and other busted parts that slowed him down doing a lot of things so he sold off some old cars & bikes, I asked him once if he ever decided to sell the black 71 or 72 El Camino let me know...couples years later sold to someone for $2K with a rebuilt 350 Go Figure LOL, he use to own a pawn shop for many years and I bought & swapped labor for a lot of tools though, he did tell me his 68 Chevelle with a built 467 that was never transferred out of his name and was stolen is sitting up North (Ct ?) could be bought cheap but seemed like too much hassle and probably all ready sold at police auction
