Any idea what this scam is?

I've seen a number of those recently. PDFs don't have executable code that can launch malware or viruses, but they can have links that if you click on them will launch malware or viruses, but what I've seen is the pdf is a invoice or receipt saying you paid for Symantec Anti-Virus subscription in an effort to get you to call them so they can get your CC information. I called on one and when they asked for my CC number, I told them I didn't have one, then they asked for a debit card number, and I told them I lived in India and didn't have any money and they hung up.

I don’t get the pdf one like that but I get an insane number of fake receipts for fake ITunes purchases and such. I’ve come to ignore it all.
