I know it’s not an A Body but let’s not neglect the ‘59-60 El Caminos too. My dad had a 59 when I was a kid. He sold it to a friend’s dad who tranferred it to my friends older brother. I kept up with that car through the first 20 years of its life and it was still an attractive used car 20 years later.

I have memories of riding between my mom and dad and getting frozen out by the under dash ac. I wish I had it. Here’s to you dad!

Here's my newtome '67. It's a real 396 truck but no drivetrain. Bought cheap cause it has a few rust issues....that's actually why I bought it. After restoring several garage queens, I just wanted something I could use year round and let sit outside with no worries. Patching the rust on the cheap with raw sheetmetal, using just a wire brush and por15...yes I know the bad rap but this is a patchwork quilt, so it fits the build. Using all the old parts I've got laying around and collecting the rest from swap meets, you know, the stuff that is one step away from the dumpster...again CHEAP. I also have left over rubber bushings and an Olds 391 posi that'll be used. Also have a '67 IV code rebuilt 396 that has no home and a richmond overdrive 5 speed that nobody wants to pony up for. It'll be a barkdust hauler, bike hauler, and whatever overall thrasher. My inspiration is Freiberger.

Cool project! I love it!!! Looks like it was Tahoe Torquoise originally. I’d put black interior in that Elco!

Yeah, I've used it on a few things in the past but only on areas that I can't get to, I wire brush, clean, then apply the por15. After it cures, I sand the area down leaving the pitted area still protected but the flat areas cleaned metal. Then I epoxy that. Never had a failure. I only use it as a last resort.
This elky was orig. marina blue/black gut but it'll likely get a matt black exterior and diamond tuft interior unless I can score some cheap orig interior panels and seat cover.

I wonder whatever happened to my old '59?
Had a 348/348, solid lifters, cam, 3-2's and Muncie.
What it did not have was a Posi, and man did it ever need one!
Car was actually hard to drive around town without getting arrested as it wanted to light one tire every time the clutch was released.
Feathering the clutch was hard on it, after changing it our for the fourth time in a couple of months I sold it for a measly $1,500.
All it was worth at the time, now you cannot buy the 3-2's for that!
