1970-1972 Chevell Brake Distribution Frame Block

the one in the pic is just a distribution block, not a prop valve, and works with either disc or drum, and is mounted on the frame. I have drum/drum now, but will be switching to factory disc in the future.
The one I took off and threw away thinking it was bad looked just like this one, I got a new one it is defectve, figired original stuff is best This block is the same for '68, '69, and '70.

True, I have a prop valve on both of mine because both cars have front disk/rear drums.
 
I guess I have a whole lot to learn about drum brakes for these cars. I have 11" aftermarket discs on all four corners of my 70 Chevelle but I've yet to install the brake lines. It looks like the distribution block in that photo is made for a vacuum line to be attached, and I must confess that I didn't even know there is any need to have a vacuum line attached to the block. I'll be using an aftermarket hydroboost instead of a vacuum booster, so I don't think I need any vacuum lines, but I'm still a bit puzzled by that photo.
 
That is not a vacum line, it is where the tan wire goes to the red brake warning light. If the internal shuttle shifts either direction due to a brake failure, it gounds a pin inside and turns on the light. That same block will work with 4 wheel discs as well.

Also the 70 & earlier valve is much more different than the later 71-72 valve, that year valve block is actually a combination valve as those years don't have the separate hold off valve up on the side of the master cylinder like the 69-70 has.
71-72 has that valve built into the combination valve (which is commonly called a proportioning valve by most of us)
