I have no idea how much that stuff costs anymore. I listen to a bluetooth speaker in my shop and that's it. As long as TV works for Lisa it's all good because I don't watch it anymore.

Kathy watches TV most of the day buy it's not on now, her hearing is terrible so I'm hoping she'll get enjoyment being able to hear what she's watching instead of needing to read the Closed Caption words at the bottom of the screen, she also likes to play Youtube music from the 70's-80's so this set up should be the ticket, our old Sony we had to use 3 remotes and was always something with the sound not working right out rear ceiling mount speakers or she couldn't tell if they were on or something? so she wanted it gone, it was old anyway, PS I use BT ear buds

I pay for YouTube premium ($15 month) and watch youtube DIY videos more than tv now.
I think a lot of young people are dropping cable and watching youtube instead.

I have my own YouTube thing, Shovelrick1 is mine, nothing really on it though

My two main front speakers seem to be nice quality but have no name brand. They are fairly large and have 12" pyle subwoofers that I swapped into them years ago.
Then I added a Yamaha 12" sub about 10 years ago.
2 years ago, I decided to make it a surround sound setup and bought affordable Polk speakers : one center front and two rear surround.
I have two nice Polk ceiling speakers that I've never installed (for Dolby Atmos).
It sounds awesome right now. Maybe when it cools off in October I'll get in the attic and install the ceiling speakers
:)

I still have these 2 Sony speakers so I might as well hook them up

YouTube removes all commercials if you pay them $15/month. It's the best deal going IMHO.
Much better than tv as you can always find something interesting, educational and lots of political stuff too.

I gave the Dome speakers to my friend Paul after explaining what happened after I hooked them up, he said he’ll try them and if he don’t like them he’ll pass them along 👍😆

I like to watch reviews on youtube about stereo speakers.
The guy with the biggest following is Andrew Robinson and he recently reviewed a high-end set of tower speakers made by Polk, which isn't considered a high-end manufacturer.
The Polk R700 speakers retail for $2200/pair, but they've been around about 3 years and used sets in excellent condition go for 50% off.
If your curious, watch Andrew's short review of these speakers :
