Chain Saws

Get yourself a 3 point rake, you'll never regret it. I (and my neighbors) use it all the time. We like to share implements and save money.
If I find one at a good price I will grab it. Next implement is a 1 bottom plow and middle buster.

I bought an 18” electric chain saw at Lowes today, supposed to been on sale from $128? To $89 but it rung up $63 😁 so I’m Good but I filled the blade in 15 min cutting roots so I’ll either get it sharpened or buy new chains like Beth mentioned, prob buy the new German made chains

Buy a chain file. Cheap as all get out and only takes a few minutes. I do keep spare chains, but I sharpen them when I come in contact with dirt or cut a stump at ground level.

I’m thinking this saw came with the cheapest chain available so you think sharpen this chain or buy those German chains and just toss this one? PS I really like this saw

Buy a spare chain or two, but sharpen what you got. Dirt will dull a chain in no time flat.
Dirt sure did dull it quick, roots and palm weeds/Trees grow through dirt and collect it inside the wood making it hell on saw blades, this rinky dink Kobalt saw does have decent power though, was thinking if it cut the roots and motor burned out toss it in the trash but I think it’s a little better than a disposable

I detest chainsaws, they never seem to work right. Took a gas bath from mine last night (pressure in tank) and getting it to adjust is a pain. I would definitely consider a battery unit but the trees I have to cut are not mine, they are my father in laws. May tell him he needs to shell out the cash for one.
Today I bought an 18” Kobalt electric chain saw, seems well made and had plenty omph till I dulled the blade cutting big tree roots, also it has a 5 yr limited guarantee, it’s on sale from $12? To $89 but for some reason mine came to a total of $63 and I’m not complaining lol and it was new in an unopened box
