1967 Chevelle SS 396 (L34) on BaT

Not keen on the green interior, but based on what I read, the current owner must have bought it as an investment to only put 50 miles on it since 2020.

Good.....colors are fantastic!, door panels are accurate, very common to see crappy repop door panels, q code M21, which is common with the L78, date lands at the beginning of the L78 time period.

Bad......very bad restamp, rust is all over the frame, trunk and various other places, thorough inspection required on this one.

Did you notice the traction bars? Those are not stock on a Chevelle SS. I believe there are rust issues. Restamp on the block? That’s a definite drawback. Thats’s not an L78 car.

I noticed the bars, that was the go-to in solving wheel hop with a manual in a chevelle. Now we've got more options. I was calling out the q code because it was mandatory with an L78, I believe it was only used along with the L34 and L78 equipped '67s. I was just tossing that in there as a possibility since the engine stamp is bogus and I didn't read the script to verify if the owner was long term enough to say either way. Just spitballing here, but I'd guess 90% of the true L78 cars lost their original engines along the way.

A build date for the car of 04A is too early for an L78 build....the earliest L78 Chevelle was the last week in April based on everything I’ve researched. My ‘67 L78 car was built the 2nd week in June ‘67 (06B)....for June 9th.

My car can’t be found, so it’s long gone sadly! 😢. Way too much power in the wrong hands...the man who bought it in ‘70 got it for his 16 yr old son (which was probably a bad move!). Wish I had their name, but didnt write it down. I was about to be drafted during Vietnam, so I didn't care at the time.

Damn I loved that car though and it was really REALLY fast!

I have never seen traction bars like that on a stock Chevelle....it must be a Day 2 modification. I doubt the seller is all that knowledgeable honestly.

My car never had any wheel hop at all but I didnt track it. 4.10 posi too...I ran slicks for a bit....that was awesome! 🙃
