I bought a set of Enginetech Hyd. BBC roller lifters today. I have seen these before and told that these lifters are Johnsons, but for $212 delivered to my door this Thurs. I am willing to try them. I want to run a Hyd roller cam in my L-29 headed 461 BBC so now I have to find a cam to use. Being I have roller lifters, I just need some good springs (beehives) and I can see if there are any cheap rollers out there to buy and test over my current flat tappet cam that ran pretty good. Not trying to cheap out but I am unwilling to spend $5-600 bucks on an engine that will only see 6K from time to time.

You gotta be kidding ? When will you be able to test them ? And where can I order some ? :)
But are they made strictly for the factory roller block ? I need retro-fit for a Mark IV block.

Go to Rockauto and look up Valve lifters for like a 1970 Chevelle 454 and there you will find it. They are like $24.79 a pair then look below and LOL when you see the almost same lifters by Melling for $800 bucks.

I just got a nice cam from a member on the other Chevelle site and with these lifers I am hoping it puts the Peanut port engine in the high 10's. Going to find out later this year.
Did you get that Howard's that was posted over there?

I just ordered a set for $229 including shipping. I just can't pass up a great buy :)
Just got my car back from paint and it looks so good I will have to talk myself into drag racing it.
But I'm sure I can do that !

I just got my EngineTech lifters and they look exactly like a new set from Howard's that I have.
I weighed them and they are the same - two lifter assy is 310 grams.
It's nice having a backup set :)

I just priced a set of Howard's at summit. $500 !
Paid $230 for the EngineTech. What a deal !
I also got my ZZ502 cam for $125 used, so got the cam & lifters for about what a flat tappet cost !

I may just pull the trigger on a second set for spares, wish they had the same ones for a SBC, I looked but did not find any and the other cheap one off Amazon had horrible reviews so I will pass on those. Advance that ZZ502 cam a little and get some free torque.

Only $230 !
Enginetech and Howard's looked identical. Couldn't find any difference at all. I wonder who makes them ?
I bought a Howards cam & springs. They grind their own cams here in the USA...one reason I went with them. Btw, you can call and talk with them about what cam & springs to buy etc...they actually pick up the phone! I've never been on hold for one second! These places need to be supported!
