Most of the extensions for the forum are outdated and don't work anymore, so I'm considering upgrading to a software similar to Chevelles.

Which is easier for you?

Which do you prefer?
 
As long as it does not have all the Ads I should be fine and okay with any changes you and Jon see that is needed

I'm dead set against any advertising, and I don't like garbage on the site. I actually paid for a premium membership on chevelles because I could hide the advertising.
 
Are you thinking of putting some LIKE Buttons or Hate Buttons etc.

By the way I like the Emoticons auto showing up when you reply etc.

That's part of the problem, all of the plugins for adding likes or whatever don't work in this version. Trying to add pictures is a multi step process, and the like. Most are used to xenforo from chevelles already and minus are the extraneous garbage they have (I like a site that's clean and utilitarian).

I just want it easy for everyone and to share what I have (my time and gifts) so everyone can enjoy. No premium memberships, everyone is invited for free. This isn't about making money for me, it's the enjoyment of talking with others who are like minded.
 
I’m up for anything Kevin. I’d love not having those crazy ads in the middle of my threads when reading through things! And as time goes on we all can adjust to most anything.

I have the new software and it's the same software chevelles.com uses now. I'll be doing the upgrade today, so if the site is down it's because we are doing the upgrade.

And btw, there won't be any ads and no garbage.

I really liked the copy-paste ease of adding pics in the newer software.

Are you sure you don't want to make money? It seems to be the absolute most important thing on earth at the moment. Even selling your country to the highest bidder for a buck appears to be the order of the day. Hard to imagine someone doing something constructive for fun and for free. Kudos
BTW, nothing at all wrong with changing your site as you see fit.

This is being done for you guys and gals, free speech IS NOT DEAD, we need to promote it. Everybody must do something, small or large to protect our rights.
