Let's hear about your Performance Build Projects

I have 3 cars with over 500hp. 1 automatic (6L80) and 2 manuals (T56's)
No comparison on which ones are more fun to drive. :)
That is subjective. I don't race in circles because it gets you nowhere but I understand your point. In either case, at least where I live you can't really wring it out on a public road as it's just not safe any longer. I get the point about 500 horsepower but in today's terms that kind of power number doesn't mean too much. My driver makes 700 but again, in todays terms that doesn't mean too much. You can buy more at the dealership for a fee but like you, I wouldn't even consider it. And, torque converters rock! :)

Yeah, I get it, I really do: Re Automatics. But, I have very little experience with the auto. Heck, I ordered a new MINI John Cooper Works in 2015...had to wait a long time, because BMW/MINI was "pushing" their new automatic with paddle shifters, so the guys that wanted 6 speed manuals just had to wait! Finally, sometime in July my JCW was delivered to the Dealer. My MINI rep who ordered my car told me how rare my car was for a 2015!.....only 39 manual trans JCW's were imported in 2015 to the USA. I admit that the auto was screaming fast, as I had to hold on for dear life when my MINI Advisor took me for a ride in a demo. He knew I was "old school", and it must have been really funny to him that I didn't know how to "paddle shift"!

But, when it comes to Chevelles, I'm still a manual shift man! That was part of the experience of tooling through town on a hot summer night! I lived it (American Graffiti style). I can't imagine tooling around when I was 17 with an automatic!

But, I certainly can respect the opposite viewpoint.
