Member's Car Pictures for the Header Logo

I have been asked to put up some specs about my Firebird. It has a past that's been for me a car that I am always doing something to it since 1981 when I bought it for $500. It was an original Spring 6 OHC 4bbl dual exhaust car with a super turbine 300 trans. Originally a gold with gold interior but the girlfriend hated it do I swapped stuff over to black (I know dumb move). The car has had get this, more that 15 engine swaps and 7 different transitions since I have owned this car. I started out as a 396 4 speed with 5.13 12 bolt drag car that after getting something else to race, I didn't have the heart to put a roll cage in it, but I beat up on a lot of locals with it that way. The car is just a driver but here's what's in the car currently

350 Vortec SBC
Performer Intake endurashine and a 650 FST DP
1 3/4 Hooker S/C headers
MSD 6A and Accel Super coil form 1979 and both still work, LOL.
Solid engine mounts as it was setup for a BBC a few times
T-56 out of an 05 GTO 2.97 low gear
Camaro 12 bolt with a 3.55 gears and posi traction

The car drives super with the 6 speed and that has been the most time consuming mod I have ever done to it but worth it cruising at 70mph.
I decided to do the 1979 Anniversary Corvette black and silver paint back in 1985. I have drag raced this car in the past but not since 2004 when I hade the peanut port engine in it with closed chamber oval heads. It's best time has been 11.31@117mph when It had the auto and 11" converter in it. I street raced this car a million times in the past, won some lost some now I just put down the road as I have my other car to go fast. I will post some more pictures as they are all on a hard drive someplace inc. a shot of the car when I first got it going in 1981. Time sure has gone by fast when you mess with cars year after year, but I would do it all over again in a heartbeat.
