Spring 2023 RV Trip

Unfortunately with the increase in RV travel trips need to be planned way ahead of time. Next May we are going to Frederick County MD, Gettysburg, Harpers Ferry, Niagara Falls, Watkins Glen State Park and Hershey, PA. I grew up in Frederick County so I have been to Gettysburg and Harpers Ferry many times but my NC born family members have not.

I got the last spot at one State Park in NY and 2nd to the last in the other. I am going to have to squeeze my 33' camper in a 30' site in MD, no big deal, I have done it before.

Growing up near Pittsburgh, Gettysburg was an easy weekend trip, and one that we made multiple times as kids. I'd enjoy it as much or more today. My dad could not get enough of the wax museum, and I liked the electric map, which is probably long gone in favor of some virtual stuff now. First time in my life I ever stayed at a motel was there.

I was lucky to live in an area where field trips were DC, Baltimore and Gettysburg. I got tired of going to the Smithsonian Air and Space Museum. A high School friend fell off the rocks at Devils Den in Gettysburg and had to be flown to a trauma center for head injuries.
