Anybody have any experience with this refrigerant?

I'd like to find something that could drop about 5 deg. in my Monte. I have 134 & will only do about 50 on hi fan.

Have you though about changing out the condenser? As I understand, the newer condensers for 134 cool much better and as I understand have more area by way of the fin configuration. The old style round tube doesn't seem to work as well.

I found a coupe of aftermarket ones that supposedly have more fin area and tubing, but I'd have to confirm the original area and tube length before I'd call it an improvement. Stay tuned.....

Thay all seem to be the same, but it got me thinking, have you checked the orifice tube? Even a slight blockage will decrease flow and not cool it off enough.

I put what was supposed to be the correct one in but that doesn't mean it's not dirty.

I had a compressor in my 2000 Ranger (brand new compressor) puke o ring guts and clogged the orifice tube and it just kept getting warmer and warmer until it stopped working all together. Tried to pull the tube, but it's stuck in the evap core, so I bought a new evep core but still haven't have the chance to swap it out.... hmm.... seems like a good project for this week.

No idea everyone I know is converting to 134a, another new refrigerant is coming out for Home/Com. use, 454b, I'm taking a class on it Feb 15th
