Why are the Jard 45+5uf dual run capacitors pieces of crap?!?!?

I learned my lesson on cheap Caps when I used a Factory China replacement and around 8 or so months later it Failed and the guy was Pissed, I went back and put a USA made cap in for No Charge then he was OK but I never heard from him again and possible talked shit about me?

Eh, you can't make everyone happy. Even in my job if the network and everything is working, it's expected.... 1 person can't print and the IT guy sucks and doesn't know what he's doing. I look at the source and understand their IQ is that of a child and treat them accordingly, and if they become nasty, I'll usually insult them to the point they can't comprehend what I've said and I walk away smiling.

From what I'm reading, a soft start would be better with my solar setup.
Is it ok to install a bigger capacitor like the 45/5 ? Or do you think that's a waste when installing a microair soft start ?
The soft starter really is easy to install

Oh just seen this, on a mini split or conventional system Never change MFD Cap size from factory spec, Edit I’ve done that when supply houses were closed but always went back asap with a new factory spec size, I used Super Pages.com when I opened my business and a lady even gave me a very nice “reference” for doing that, Oh and I had the regular Flu or was getting over Not the Fauxi Flu

I just bought a "Sure Start Soft Starter" for my heat pump. I think I'll install a new AmRad capacitor while installing it.

Yes, the soft start is for a solar inverter that's not as "robust" as mine is. I bought a heavy duty one like Kevin has. I figured it might help my compressor last longer.
Most inverters can't handle big spikes in amps.
My neighbor has replaced two heat pumps in 5 years so I'm a little spooked about mine holding up.
I don't know what size capacitor is in there now. Planning on taking the cover off the ac unit and seeing what size I need to order as a spare.

I’m going to check into buying 1 or more of those, I do try to sell new equipment after equipment reach a certain age or condition where you’re throwing good money away on old equip, but the Sure Start sounds like excellent preventive Maint for new or “Young” equip and an energy saver
