My friend thats co owner of the upholstery shop I go to is having trouble with one of the bonding type fillers, the painter is almost finished but now the body man has to strip part of this Absolutely Beautiful Candy paint job to repair a problem, this only shows when the car gets warm in the sun when it goes back inside the bldg it disappears, weird but theyre going to fix it, top high end shops but if I was having this level of work done Id probably cry and another reason I couldnt have a show car Id screw it up, I posted a pic of the purple engine that the engine builder I know built for it, was a 440 now 500” 600/600 with March pulley system and ac comp that John put together

Im with you on this level of paint. I already have issue parking my car in paring busy lot. Let alone a job done to this level.

Every custom shop that has done work for me use Evercoat. Its currently what I use as well.

Mine was done in 2016 and fairly inexpensive, no weird swelling where the Evercoat ties the quarter to the roof line

Love that car ever time I see it. I was so close to go that color with white stripes. I went black as I had done abut 1000 hrs of body work to get the body straight.

Ive been kicking around the idea of 69 SS side stripes in White

Mine has a similar line in the hot sun, but oddly it just started showing up about 20 years after it was painted.

I think we used Evercoat fillers back then, and I still do.
Im going to look closer at mine, never really paid any attention but mines not a high dollar job either, not counting sheet metal mines around 5k or under, my friends Cuda is around $21k with metal

I think Im another $3k in SS hood in 2012, full quarters, both fenders, both doors and trunk floor in 2014 but my gaps arent great and 1st body guy dropped the ball, 2nd like to smoke weed and forget where bolts went lol When the Cuda is done itll be a show car for sure 👍👍🙂

15yrs ago and mine was 10k. I did most of it with welding in new panels. Spent most of the time, block sanding. Shooting build gray, then black, then sand. Over and over. And then over.... . Took it to a friend to paint. I didn't have the 'testicular fortitude' to do it my self. My nerves and anger management wouldn't take it.

My skill level wouldnt allow me but Im ok with it not being perfect, I just wanted a driver quality and thats pretty much what I got, did get pissed when the painter didnt back tape the hood grill opening 🤬

It may be welded, but the ripple is at the bond/seam. It could either be a poor bond of the Evercoat or the metal is stressed.
Weird how it comes and goes when its in and out of the sun but I agree somethings not bonded correctly, body man said whatever it takes he’ll make it right as far as fixing it but painter will need to repaint roof, roofline down to edge and trunk lid

The sun is heating the panels and causing them to expand.
