I installed a new Pertronix HEI Flame Thrower III with digital rev limiter but my Sun Super tach II wouldn't work after the dist install so then I added 1 of these in the tach wire and tach worked fine, whoops gotta find it, I did this a while back but thought Id move it over here from "Da Other Place" lol20211204_121904.jpg

im not an electrical guy but how did you know to add a resister. And specifically a 10 ohm?

I ask because I have an MSD Streetfire Coil-in-Cap Dist. I have most of the parts to separate all of it, but not the FT III module I need for for the RPM limiter. I'm also running Dakota Digital gauges and they say it will work fine with their Tach.

I think after reading a ton after my tach wouldn't work after swapping the 454 with an Ebay HEI to the 489 with the Pert. Dist., I did call Pert. so maybe they said try a resistor? Billdini had a problem so might have been reading his thread got me thinking?
