Guitar hobby is getting a little crazy

Every time I find a good deal, I buy it. Picked up a couple of Asian made L5 style jazz boxes for $150 each, plus a Marshall valvestate half stack for $50 at a thrift store, Marshall combo amp, 4x12 cab, 5150 half stack, and a couple of vintage Alamo tube amps. Traded a guy for a frankencaster that’s got a genuine 50s Strat neck on it that’s great fun to play. I’ve got over 20 guitars ranging from acoustics to resonators to hollowbody and solid body electrics. Having so many and so varied guitars has given me incentive to play every day though and I’ve been getting back to the blues a lot lately. I keep several guitars with open tunings lying around. The Peavey Vypyr is great for playing along with backing tracks through headphones as it has an input for a bluetooth receiver.

The Jackson and Dean ML are my son’s. Bet you can’t guess who his two favorite metal musicians are 😅

Let’s see your cool gear!

Consider yourself lucky. I never learned how to play, but I wish I did. Pretty cool collection though. I'm into the blues bigtime.

I had the pleasure of touring Rick Hendrick's private car and guitar collection, it was extremely awesome. Seeing guitars from famous artists of all genres is something.

You do have a very nice collection.

I like to sing but no one wants to hear me sing, so I lost interest in playing any musical instrument. ;)
But I love music and have a huge collection of concert blu-rays of classic rock bands.
Many are out of print.

Very nice collection Andy, I took guitar lessons from 10 up to the time I turned 12, first had to take 3 months of a keyed instrument to learn to read sheet music and learn notes so I took up accordion (Great Gmother was from Romania and loved Polkas & Waltz’s)then was taking both guitar & accordion but I was much better on accordion and an aunt & uncle that lived in Europe sent me a beautiful Italian made accordion, guess I missed my calling of being on the Lawrence Welk Show 🙂

Cool, I find killer deals on car parts all the time but never any guitar deals like I did back in the 80's. I got a 1961 Les Paul Jr. SG body style for $175 one day as I was the only guy who would pay cash that day. Jim the owner said if I would pay the sales tax it was mine. I still have it. I do however get some deals on smallish amps every now and then.
