Why the washers where it hooks to the output of the trans? Spacers for measurement?
are you talking in the yellow box? That cone on the back of the Trans Case has flared out mounting holes (making it look like washers) and the GV flange is slightly larger than the old mounting surface casting a shadow on it from the flash of the camera. I snugged up the bolts to 25ftlbs just to mount it for measuring.

Ahhh, croptical illusion. Now that you described it, it makes sense.
