Flying in with my Daughter for a Service for my Wife's StepFather this coming friday. She has limited days off from her work so time is limited. My MIL is still alive God Bless Her so we'll be visiting with her in Bradenton. That's why it anyone knows a good hotel there to let me know.
Also back in 91 we went to Fla to visit them and then see the Disney sites and stuff in Kissimee. Back then we stayed in my Wife's Aunt's condo near where my MIL's condo was so no hotel till we went to Kissimee. So anyone knows a better one just LMK.
Back then they came with me to the Bradenton Speedway one Fri or Sat nite as the Late models were running twin 50 lap races that night and as the races were happening I was saw the locals standing up there on the top row of the bleachers and watching the drag races from there.
I saw that and couldn't resist so I went and watched them too. But that doesn't help me with hotel accommodations. Unfortunately this is all last minute.....Doh

I honestly don’t know anything about hotels in the Bradenton area, was working in Ruskin last year and had to drive there since it was closest for ac supplies and was amazed at how it’s grown, I hadn’t been there in over 10 years, Bradenton Speedway is on my list of things to do in the near future

I would have liked to stay longer but my Daughter has to get back to school. She's a teacher and I'm extremely proud of her. After she left school for a break from school for a while  (10 yrs) she decided to go back and finish her schooling and put Herself through the last 2 years of college. She gave up a very good job where She had been the bank manager of a good banks large branch for almost 8 years. So I don't want Her to jeopardize her job

My 96 yr. old MIL just called me this afternoon to tell me Larry's dedication ceremony has been postponed so that's going to cause all kinds of problems. I guess it couldn't be helped as She isn't in control of what they are doing for him.
So no Florida sunshine for me ..... yet
Mom still wants us to visit soon as we haven't seen her in years

Yep, except we don't leave the porch light on, the sun stays out until like 9pm at night in the summer down here. I love living in Florida. It's like we went on vacation and it never ended.

Like the beach boys album name: Endless Summer.

I've been wanting to move to Fla for 35 years when my manager moved there and said for our family to follow his but I couldn't get anyone to want what I wanted to do. Plus my Wife's NY based job, that payed very well, wouldn't be anywhere near what she was making down there. I said so what but still couldn't get anyone from my family to want to move. I would have been the Lone Wolf.
The kicker is not long before She passed, maybe a year, she had finally decided to want to move there and that was half the battle.

Tough to make the move when you have a life, but I made the decision 28 years ago and we moved. Never looked back and if you ask my wife now (who was hesitant moving away from family), she'd do it again in a heartbeat. Pretty easy to get used to when you can be outside all year round. We get about 2 to 3 weeks of cold weather in January, then it warms back up again and it's summertime again. This past week it's been sunny and in the 80's. Can't beat that with a stick.

I feel the same about living in Texas as Kevin does about Florida. No state income tax, sun, largely conservative mindset... Once I was an adult, I couldn't wait to get out of Pennsylvania. Hell, they had a 55 mph speed limit til 2016! And this...

If Texas just had reasonable property taxes ! That kept me from moving there !
