Problem is with the 1.0. My son Paul had this exact problem. Damn glad I sold the EcoSport.

So how many will Ford ignore?

Not for my son. His car screwed up 2 years ago and he lost a ton on it. Ford screwed alot of people over.

Ecoboosts are crap, many Fusions 13-16 are hitting the scrapyards, most are Ecoboosts. 2.5L non Ecoboosts are the best engines.

My son bought an F150 3.3 NA and has had no problems with the engine or trans. There have been ongoing issues with window switches and window motors though. All covered by warranty.

My son has my old 2013 Fusion, has about 175K on it now, 2.5L. I think I did a modification that helped the transmission years ago. The transmission mount was weak from the factory, a mod was to replace it with a Focus Electric mount, just needed to enlarge the bolt holes, really made a difference in the shifting.

We've got a recall on that 1.0 now for that issue, only problem is no parts due to excessive demand. We've got at least a dozen littering up our lot right now.

That is why I do not envy your job, you are the poor guy taking the brunt of the consumer frustration.
