TPMS

Yes. Its a little different from make and model. Ours and our kids cars auto reset to their current/new positions. My car (Dodge) take driving for about 5min to reset the position.
 
I know the sensors have to be programmed to the system but since they transmit I didn't know if the system recognizes a tire rotation.

That I did know. I've had a couple sensors go bad (in a Nissan minivan years ago) and had to have them programmed by Nissan (tire shop couldn't do it).
