One of my close old friends got in an accident in his DD truck, he says best price on parts is Amazon, I said check NPD and LMC and for replated orig TriCity or TriCounty plating but he’s going with lessor priced Amazon parts, anyone ever buy a bumper from Amazon?

He’s had this truck for 30ish yrs, neighbor guy painted it way back when and it looks like Hell now but runs great with a 1970 350 that’s warmed up and a 200r4 trans with a nice street stall conv

A quick look puts an ebay ad with free shipping $50 cheaper than amazon's best price. If pricing is competitive, I usually lean towards summit, as their return policy and customer service is second to none. They handle a bunch of resto stuff, and the C10 is one that they heavily support.

I’m going to tell him look there, EBay, Summit, personally I think Amazon will send the cheapest junk available, he is concerned about price, 72 and on fixed income

Yeah amazon is just playing the middleman with relation to parts sales plus you have to watch out for people selling thru amazon and they are not
the actual amazon site but a re-lister or a re-seller. Either of them is a bad thing for buying something on line.
Tell your bud to make sure he's actually buying something from Amazon and not a re-lister

Since price is a concern, maybe checking on CL or FB marketplace for a used bumper might be the best thing except that will take some time

I'm pretty sure all car and truck bumpers come from Taiwan regardless of who's selling them.
I would buy from Golden Star on Ebay. My repo bumpers look nice.

I bought mine from NPD and believe that’s their supplier, I’m very happy with them, I think my friend is thinking they’re all the same, not the case

From what Rick at NPD says there’s 4-5 places in Asia that makes repo parts, some better than others, I can’t really quote what he said but that’s the base of it

Just checked with Jeg's for the helluvit ?

I wonder is their price less than amazon's price ?

I would call Jegs and ask if they have seen both Golden Star and "Jegs" brand ?
They sell both and "Jegs" price is a lot cheaper ! $189 vs $250
Maybe they will tell you if one is better ? It's worth a shot.

In addition to LMC I like Classic Industries. Too bad they don’t sell Chevelle parts because I’m about sick of all the Chevelle places (OPGI = never in stock; Year One = add 20% to the highest price from any other seller; NPD = seems like they don’t have a lot of stuff that others have and their website is a disaster).

People like original stuff but for bumpers I’ve heard enough people say that the aftermarket is just as thick metal as originals and half the price. I don’t think getting an original bumper reworked makes sense unless price is not a concern.
