This is why I like a Vinyl Top

I like it with the vinyl. I think big cars with all that color need something to break it up, a vinyl top does that.
 
IMO A bodies look Great with vinyl tops, it'd probably cost a small fortune to put one on a non vinyl top car though, mine was a VT car originally but with the new quarters no holes for trim now or trim
 
I love them on an El Camino and a fullsize car like my '68 Caprice, but on a Chevelle, I like them better without.
 
I would love to put one on my car.
My first car was a triple black 1973 Riviera I bought in 1976.
