Vintage A/C

I should have called Summit and asked about the 67-68 Chevy Astro vents, they're for Camaro & Firebird so I'm sending them back, I should have realized since 67 and 68 a totally different dashes, I'll order 68-69 and make sure they're for a Chevelle since the VA under dash vents look pretty tacky IMO, I'm even thinking about replacing the new Non AC dash carrier with a new AC carrier...guess I could try using the Dremel first

I think you should look at the dash first to see if it'll fit right and not look like a hack job, and let that determine which direction you go. I'm of the mindset time is money and sometimes it's more cost effective to buy the right part instead of "fitting" it in...

Beth If you buy the 2 Goodmark side Bezel to Duct adapters for $28.95 ea. and both side Bezel, Ball Vent kits at $89.95 you're about $150, not counting what you'll need for center vent, Summit

Let me know if I can help. It’s not a 68 bezel but I’ve got some 69s and vents I can measure if you need. Took these pictures if they help . How is the quality of that repo stuff?
Im not sure if you can see the

Im not sure if the pics show it but the chrome ball bezels each have a light scratch one has 2 scratches and you'd think for $115 for 2 ball vents they'd be perfect well I would think so anyway

Those are the wrong one anyways right? Maybe mention something to the next or same place you order the new ones. They may be able to inspect for not fit issues. Good luck.

Don't a lot of people run the hoses under the radiator shroud and then under the pass side fender so they are out-of-sight ?

Alot of the newer after market A/C systems now route the hoses inside the fenderwell and into where the fan went (with a specific grommet for the lines).

I kind of like the sleek hidden look myself. I'll be doing that to both the '68 GTO and the '67 Chevelle. The Starfire is being sold as is (stock) since I'm not keeping it.

I did that on my 67 Chevelle and 68 Camaro, but the compressor is on the pass side. Much easier that way.

Hiding the hoses means pulling off the pass side fender from what Ive read, Im using the supplied plate with grommets and going through the firewall but wouldve preferred inside the fender

I think you could have pulled the passenger side tub without disturbing the fender (pain in the ass), but that could have worked. No matter, you're 3/4 pregnant now. You got this.
