I hope the owner doesn’t get mad I posted without his knowledge but I had to share a story. During the build I ran across an ad for parts on Craigslist. The parts I wanted were in Oregon. The owners were very nice, helpful and just a great couple to spend the day with. Actually went back a second time just to show my cousin. The owner back in the day owned a wrecking yard. He said he crushed a lot of nice cars back in the day. He was happy to show us some of his stuff. I can’t answer questions but wanted to share.

April 19,2019 my life was changed. It was like walking though a indoor car show. And they had more cars and things outside.Plus some personal stories. If I could only buy the 69 convertible. I now there may be better but it was my fav.

Nice collection! A guy I new had 69 pace car like that with the 396 option. Dumbass sold it in the early 90s for 1500 bucks.

Sometimes we're in a position that we have no control over and the best option is to liquidate. I'm not saying that's what happened here, but until you walk in another man's shoes, it's tough to judge.

In this particular case, this was a spoiled kid who had plenty of money. He just didn't value muscle cars. He was more into rice burners, and ANY car was expendable as a means to get the next car. That kid always had a different car.

Then yes, he was a dumbass.

Different place. Same year cars. Are they of same value?

Here are all the numbers I got from above. Haven’t looked close and don’t know which is which. On a side note I’m still waiting for a answer about some Chevelle parts. Some I’ve gotten elsewhere now.

The '66 had a similar 427 fender badge much the same as the 396 but red, not black. Not sure if anything else was specific to the larger bore engine. About 6 years back I bought a 396 '66 impala SS with the auto, it had a Q code I believe which designated the turbo 400. Also had the transistor ignition, K66. I parted it out, and wished I hadn't.
