Guy is Making a Knife with 2 Dozen Drill Bits What's He Pouring On Them ?

This guy is making aknife out of 2 dozen old drill bits (and we thought they're only good as scrap metal) :cool: but as he does it he keeps pouring some kind of powder on them and I was hoping someone would know what that stuff is. ?


He's also got one badass forge too. Let me know what you think
 
Don't know but I'm almost going to the eye doctor just watching him do all that without safety glasses.
Some kind of flux, looks almost like what you'd use for brazing.
 
I was hoping he'd add a nice wood handle but he just wrapped it with some waxed string and done but that steel had some awesome look to it
 
I know a guy that does knives like this.
