$35 for a 6 Pk of 10w30 or 20w50 is a very good deal

Mobil 1 in my engines with roller lifters.I have 1 case left but recently bought 2 6qt packs of Mobile1 10w30, I talked to a guy at Gaterman lifters (what I’m using) about using Syn oil with their lifters since there’s such a Big problem with Morel and what oil to use, 8 min conversation he said use either type oil but No 0-5 stuff or No straight 50 lol, he also said Morel designs their lifters with Very close tolerances and that’s why they make noise, Gaterman design is excellent where it needs to be in other words, so I’ll be switching to Syn for the full roller engine but IMO VR1 is the best for any flat tappet engine
Maybe the filter has partially collapsed ? LOL, now I got you worried. My 2005 Express 2500 with 4.8 LS and 169K miles after I switched from Napa (Valvoline) 5w30 to Mobile1 5w30 bumped my oil psi way up, actually wondering if it's too high lol, 1 pic at a red light another going upgrade highway ramp and another cruising @70 mph, use to idle around 30 psi and under 50 going up that ramp, edit lost ramp pic but you can see how high it getsView attachment 12225View attachment 12226View attachment 12227
IIRC I used a Napa Gold (WIX) filter but I guess it wouldn't hurt to swap it out to be safe, Don't want to hurt my $$$ makerMaybe the filter has partially collapsed ? LOL, now I got you worried.
I would swap out the filter and top off the oil just to make sure the filter is ok.
That's normal operating temps, like Beth mentioned I'm wondering if the filter is screwed up inside, I'm changing the filter some time this weekendIs that somewhat cold or does it lower approx 10 across the board after 20 min of driving? Anything above 70 scares me, but if it's just cresting 70 while cold I'd be okay with it. Washing the main bearings and crankcase pressure are things to consider, but every engine type has it's comfort zone. I'd probably get on the LS forums and hunt around for insight.
I think oil pressure is measured from a port at the top rear of the block. So I bet it's after it goes thru the filter. If the pressure is measured after the filter like a Gen 1 the pressure would be lower if the filter was messed up, but I don't know where they measure it on a LS.
