Anyone going? Its the closest thing we have now to Chevelleabration. The club is a great bunch of folks and they put on one hell of a show. My Elky is not ready to go, but the fact that I'll spend $1,500 on airfare, hotel and beer to hang out in a Best Western parking lot with a bunch of Chevelle guys and gals for 3 days has to tell you something! (other than I'm crazy)

I got it when I was in the hospital donating my kidney. I went into the bathroom, and there it was, sealed in plastic. I don't know why, but it turned the light bulb on over my head and I stuck it in my luggage to go home. It puts a smile on my face every time I use it!

There is no info on what's going on at the show ? It says 9am to 4 pm Friday and Saturday. That's it !
No info on vendors, if there's a swap meet, etc.
There's probably info somewhere but they are doing a piss poor job making it easy to find.

BTW there is a Super 8 right next door for $50 less per night.

Mention us to the guys at NOCC, contrary to popular belief we are not a political forum but there are somethings we need to talk about as friends.

Jsut got back to Houston, and had a great time! Made some new friends and visited with some old friends. Weather was great too. I answered a few questions about our site and when I overheard Merlo mention that there was another site started by everyone who was "kicked off" TC, I corrected him in front of several other people, and told them that I was not kicked off, I quit rather than be part of a site overseen by socialists. No one said anything either way after that. I feel that after almost 25 years of Chevelles, that I have some cred with my peers, so we'll see...
I recommend this show to anyone... its the closest thing we have to Chevelleabration.

Mike M is always welcome, he has an account. He and Hillbilly got into it early on and the dispute had to end, he got pissed and left.

You are correct about TC, I still have an account there, was not kicked off. I just decided that people need to be able to talk freely. Kevin had the same idea and we put this site together.

I plan on going to NOCC, schedules are starting to get easier to make plans.

Sounds like a great success. The last big chevelle show or gathering here locally was sponsered by ACES and Chuck, John? Framer, and a few others drove out. Great turnout and I remember thinking this will be the one of the last long distance turnout we see, if not the last. So far it's rang true, and that was 20 years back.
It does seem the other site has a bit of club hierarchy implied through their members, but that's fine. They have some good folks over there, and some that just don't get it.....such is life.

Funny how misinformation is spread. The fact is NO ONE on this site was kicked off OCS until this site was already started and running, and when some of us questioned why they closed down Current Events and the stringent rules that only applied to some, we were labeled troublemakers.

So some of us questioned the establishment and if you were a member of this site you were either met with getting a temporary ban or being banned permanently. Anyone make the correlation? Sounds a bit like our political system now doesn't it?

Oh, the hypocrisy.

You nailed it Kevin. I never even posted an opinion over there, most of my posts were technical after the demise of CE. You guys established this site, Dean peeped in and banned myself in response to this site's activities, not ocs, then he gloated. A jackass move.

If you can look back at OCS objectively for what it is now (not when it first started), it is nothing more than a continuation of the high school clicks we all knew.

If you don't fit in, or question things, you're out. Go with the flow and follow the rest of the lemmings and everything is good.

Wow, that's really petty. I still go over there from time to time; mostly to read Vortecpro or the few old timers who are still there.
