Yesterday an online auction completed that was very close to the house, it was actually a distant relatives estate that was being sold off.
I walked out buying 15 lots ranging from a Chevelle Center Cap for $2.50 to a floor lamp for $70. The auctioneer estimated that lamp should have gone for $200. We picked up multiple kitchen pans, bowls and flatware. The flatware sold for $10.00. Upon further research it is a discontinued brand that sold for $50 a place setting. It was short 5 pieces to make 12 place settings and we have found the pieces to replace the missing ones at a local discontinued china store, but not for $10.
I also picked up a stand mounted Craftsman scroll saw, 1/2" Black and Decker drill, 100' of heavy rubber garden hose, Milwaukee sawzaw, Milwaukee 3/8" drill, 2 bedside table lamps, swivel socket set, portable hand scroll saw and a few other items.
Keep an eye on estate sales, there is a lot of good stuff out there and a lot cheaper than new.
This is sad but true, in the end all that is left of us is our stuff for our family to get rid of.
