I just got off the phone with Dan, he’s going to make me a TS4R detent since he doesn’t have any in stock so in about 1 week I should have it, going to wait till it gets here then send Shiftworks back to Summit hope they’ll take it back but thinking it’s not too long

Just watched the video on the TS4R. should be fun to work.

DPJ FAB TS4R
Dan said he didn't have a vid of TS4R so must be new, going to watch it now (y) (y) :) Edit vid says it's 2 yrs old I thought Dan said he'd make a vid but either way I'm happy seeing how his works compared to SW, pulling the detent for 3rd but no need to get 4th is pretty dumb IMHO, Slap, Slap, Slap then pull lever for OD makes much more sense

Just got the DPJ detent so I’ll be swapping out the SW detent asap 👍🙂

I sent a text to Dan asking where I should file, the detent bar gets stuck in 4th/OD it dropped in before I tightened the bolts but wouldn’t come back up, I loosened the bolts and tried moving it around but still wouldn’t work so for now the SW plate is back in, since they put new black top down this place will be an oven by the time I run a cpl service calls so I’ll either be back this evening or in the morning, I’m sure Dan will get back to me asap

I think by looking at your pictures, maybe trim the portion where the red line is?

View attachment 14841
That’s exactly where I trimmed, Dan gave me a call (Best customer support I’ve had in Many years on anything even my on tech support guys) said I hope you didn’t remove too much from that area but if I did he’ll send me another No Charge, we don’t think I took too much off, so what I should’ve done was moved to the 2nd lower rear hole and moved the plate mount hole that has a longer hole for moving the plate so I did that but haven’t driven it yet I had an appt to get to but might go back either this evening or in the morning to test what I’ve moved it to, in 1 pic the cross bar is sitting on top where it needed to drop for 2nd gear

I have never talked to him but from who I've heard has, reiterated the same impression about Dan. He cares and stands behind his product.

Back when I had an automatic in my car, I designed a ratcheting detent for the shifter and was planning to start producing them but never did... never went beyond a drawing on paper.

It was at least 5 years before they came to market, and the design looks nearly identical to the DJP part.

...missed opportunities.

$98 to my door but not sure cost

Had a friend with access to a laser cutter that would have been about $5/ea to produce.
I never got around to making a working prototype before I took the automatic out of the car and started working on the 6spd swap.
I’m still working on getting it adjusted right but can’t get back there till later today

Well I think I need to do some filing or 4.5” grinding to the area above the O&N to get 2nd to drop where it should, going to send this pic to Dan in the morning to see what he thinks, the top detent plate is the SW and it went to 2nd perfectly and not sure you can see my Sharpie line but I won’t remove all of the line just a little at a time9E060AFF-5DCC-4816-9AE6-7C8D8A256DF9.jpeg

I did more adjusting today then went for a 20 min drive and I’m thinking it’s finally where it should be, I’m back later after the Exh cools and make 100% sure it’s going all the way into 3rd and 4th but I think it’s good just would feel better checking linkage at the trans, Very Fun Slapping gears 👍🙂
