I’m driving to Ky to do some work at one of the girls house they just bought and figuring 2,000 mile round trip maybe less, these Goodyear Wrangler tires have maybe 2,000 miles on them and always been stored inside since I put mag wheels and tires on the truck soon after buying it, 0 checking or cracks so going to drive around a cpl days and if all seems fine leave them on for the trip and toss them after I get back, wish me luck 😂

I’d make sure I have a spare but I’d probably take the risk. I’m sure other wouldn’t but I would

I drove half of route 66 on 25 year old tires, 80mph+ and hot, Needles CA, was 105. Not a fair comparison, old rubber didn't delam like newer stuff. That said, I'd do it with a good spare and using the right lane.

We use to run some very scketchy tires back and forth to Oh when I was a kid, if these still look fine Thursday morning they’re hitting the highway, I do have the original spare that I used once and it looks just as good, if I do need a tire I’ll find a decent used one lol

Just pray if one goes it is not on an Atlanta Interstate.

I’d like to Completely Avoid the state of Georgia, I got a $600+ speeding ticket going through there in 2019, they have Super Speeder BS if you’re above a certain mph on I-75, I was around 93-95

All roads lead through Atlanta which sucks!
There’s the bypass but last time I was through there it was a mess, thinking of planning a route through Al, kids in Western Ky, more I think about it I’ll lose too much time I’ll just Obey the limit,,,,try anyway 😆 and I’ll be pulling my 10’ trailer with a 5’ tall gun safe on its side that’s around 400# and ac units

Also noticed my 4 whl disc brake pads are very worn so changing them tomorrow, O’Reilys said not to use Ceramic on factory rotors could cause problems? anyone know about this?

Yeah, have to go through Nashville to get to Western KY. Gotta pull Monteagle in TN. Don't be like the Bandit.

I really enjoyed the Bandit movies, my best friend won the 1st or 2nd Ugly Truck contest held at the Tampa Stadium in the late 70’s early 80’ and won a 3’ to 4’ tall trophy and got to drink a few beers with Jerry Reed, following year Ford started giving New trucks to the winner 😳 my friend won with a 76-78 Ford F-250 that he dropped a tree on (he was a tree climber and supervisor for Asplund before starting his own bus) truck had a bashed in roof, bullet holes and looked like it been through a war and was only a few years old 😂

I know it's not the same but the tires on my B Allis are well over 40 years old & no cracks at all. The rubber was much better back then.

I remember my dad putting tubes in tubeless tires before his chief mechanic friend at the sheriff office started giving him take off police car tires (radials) don’t remember any problems with tubes in tubeless tires but that was about 50 years ago
