I love to compare Ford and Chevy Big Block cars

I absolutely love Big Block Chevys. But I admire the others like the 428 Cobra Jet (isn't that a great name?) and the Chrysler Hemi (which I think is WAY overated).
Here is a great video of a stock 68 Mustang 428 Cobra jet which ran a 13.6 1/4 mile @ 100 mph on skinny bias ply tires.
I could watch "mostly stock" 60's muscle cars drag race all day . I lose interest the more mods they get.

I had a 68 428CJ, put it in a 68 F-100 SB with a 3 on the tree then a 4 spd, Badd Ass engine, I pulled it out of a JY 68 Galaxie 500 vert that was rear ended, friend that owned the JY said it was a real good running 390, what the fender emblems said anyway lol

GM refused to put a 427 in the Camaro because they didn't want anything to be faster than the Vette.
A friend on Team Camaro, Fred Ficarra, bought his 69 Camaro L78 396 brand new.
One year later he had yanked that engine and installed a 427. It was a beautiful car and ran 10's !
That's Fred on the left.

Yen Lo, Motion etc got it Right 👍🙂 I swear I’m ready to give this iPhone a Swift Kick In The Ass, I wrote Yenko, I often wondered if the original owner of that Galaxie had the 428 dealer installed or if some other owner or maybe he swapped it? it didn’t look modified just stock rag top looking but I bet it surprised a lot of people, I know I sure surprised a bunch with that old truck with stock hubcaps lol

A little outside of the true muscle car, but both these I'd like to have and hold.

Both are bargains imo.

A 429 and 428 would really wake up with a modern roller cam and a little head work :)

I had a '73 ranchero back in '83 and it was a dog with the 302, but at the time it was just a DD when I was in the service. Had a bench seat and didn't lend well when you had kids. I dumped it and bought a new car, an '84 Ford Escort and that was a bigger pile. I was shipped overseas so I figured I'd get a new car for my wife at the time (soon to be my ex) so she'd have something easy and new to drive with my son.

One of my first cars was a 64 T-bird, faded dark green paint looked black, fender skirts and Cream Landau top with chrome bars, 390 4 bbl and 1st C6 trans swap by myself on a sheet of plywood in my dads yard, Gfriend Loved the rounded back seat

IIRC Ford FE BB's came from the factory with shaft rockers, also IIRC the 351 Cleveland head was more like a BBC head I had a 70 Mach 1 351C 4V 4 spd but never had the VC's off and beat on that car pretty hard

This 1960 Ranchero is close to me. How is it that some people can't take pictures in focus ?

Here's a 64 TBird with nothing wrong for less than 20k !

These guys have a way of twisting my interest. I'd probably be looking at that '60 Ranchero if it was close.......

In the late 60's early 70's my uncle Jimmy had an early 60's Falcon Vert Black/Black/Black that he put an Econoline straight axle, 390 & 4 spd in, street raced and raced at Edgewater drag strip, thing sat way up in the air
