Got a call from my sales rep saying another contractor either installed an a/c system with electric heat strip as primary (and only) heat source or applied for a permit to do it and the home owner got a letter from the Tampa Bldg dept saying they Can Not have an ac with electric heat as primary source, so that only leaves a heat pump upgrade as an option, older condos and apts usually only have 1/4" sometimes 5/16" liquid refrigerant lines and heat pumps Do Not work right with those lines, most places you cant even change the lines if you wanted to and only 2 Tstat wires instead of 5 or more, waiting on a call from a senior mechanical inspector now, I can understand New home/buildings but retrofits ??
