Going to order one for my 09 RAM 3.7 and see if I can stop oil drips, anyone tried one? I know the torque spec is 25# but I’m thinking this is a 1 and done deal and no more messy oil changes

Did you replace the crush washer?
No seems that I’d need to change the plug and washer and that’s why I’m thinking put this valve on, kind of like plumbing stuff and can attach a hose if I want to, they also come with a safety so they can’t accidentally open

I have used them for block coolant plugs, many people swear by them.

I’m going to order 1 for my Ram and if it doesn’t look like a cheap China POS I’ll get them for my work van & Chevelle

I put one on my Buick Verano. The oil drain plug sits directly over a plastic shield mounted to the underside of the car. I assume you’re supposed to remove the shield every time you drain the oil or you’d create an environmental disaster every time you change the oil.
The valve has been fantastic. Because the car sits low I drive up on ramps. There is an optional nipple that screws into the valve. It has a barbed fitting that I put a length of clear vinyl tube on. Screw the hose onto the valve, put the open end of the hose directly into a gallon jug, flip the lever on the valve and it drains. Super clean. No more spills trying to pour the old oil from the drain pan back into a jug for recycling. It’s a great product. Now if there was a way to make removing the oil filter less messy.

More proof that the engineers put 0 effort to make it owner servicable. My 01 silverado has the skid plate overlapping the oil filter, but the plug is barely free to drain. I grab a sandwich bag to remove the filter and have to hold it there for a minute after breaking the seal. A thick rag laid on top of the skid plate sops up any residual. Nice idea on the plug, new to me.

It’s raining here today but when it stops I’ll put this plug in, looks pretty solid and I thought made in China but made in Japan so thinking it’s a little better quality, Gdad that fought in the S Pacific is rolling
