Looks like a Paint Code E-E '67 Camaro...really pretty!

It could be cleaner yes.....I don't see leaks though...what am I missing? It's not a 12-Bolt Diff, but it looks good underneath. I just know what Camaro's are going for these days, and I have a thing for '67's. ;)

A 10 bolt rearend with a 4 link suspension ? And a 4 speed; no 5 speed.
Otherwise a decent car but I don't like radical mods like 4 links.

You can see a flim of oil on the bottom of the oil pan, and the drain plug in the differential cover is leaking. There is also the stain under the corner of the carburetor that indicates it is leaking somewhere, too.

All good points! If it was more stock-like and presented better I believe it would be worth the asking price though.

I’m more of a purist anyway, one reason I bought an original TH400 Chevelle that it's matching numbers. I have some work to do on it but I like the originality...hasn’t been messed with except a repaint without the black vinyl top.

Anything painted dark blue just gets me going....that color just has to be seen in person to appreciate it! You can see my old Chevelle pic on my driveway in 1970 at the top of the forum page with the sun hitting it! I’m such a sucker for Danube Blue (‘66) and Deepwater Blue (‘67). 🥴

Removing the leaf springs kills it for me.
And most 1st gen fans.
I think it’s a Day 4 not 2 mod changing to a 4 link, I had beautiful 67 Camaro 327 3 spd manual bucket seat no console in Butternut Yellow, Black vinyl top & interior when it was a 8 year old car, my friend and I put a 4 bbl intake & carb and a 4 spd in it and what a blast to drive, my dad sold it while I was at school, 15 yrs old and dad said I had to put it in his name since I only had a learners permit, I bitched and moaned so much he gave me a 66 Comet vert 289 2 spd auto, looked nice but couldn’t outrun a city bus

I’m getting educated on springs on Camaros. I knew they had stock leaf springs (which I didn’t care for back in the day). My Chevelle had coils all around of course. So, I would agree messing with the suspension likely hurts this Camaro’s value, together with the rear end.

This car with stock springs or even with stabilization bars plus 12 bolt posi & 4 speed would make it more desirable IMO.

Things I really didn’t consider when first seeing this one.

LOL, I have a 68 Camaro and one of the reasons I love it is it's simplicity.
It's basically a go-kart with 500 hp. :)
The Chevelle rides a helluva lot better but if you put a Chevelle suspension under an old Camaro, is it still a Camaro ? IDK but I don't like it.

I really can’t remember how my 67 handled but my 2nd gen T/A handled great with stock suspension
The first gens benefitted from the "Guldstrand mod" where you move the upper control arm back and down.
Guldstrand was a Trans Am champion who popularized that mod. It helped handling a lot.
2nd gens had that built-in.
:)

Interesting, Dan Gurney was credited for the same mod on the '67 cougar for SCCA. I did all this stuff to my '68 cougar, along with shelby rated springs, bilsteins, monte carlo bar, escort brace and of course tires.....it was a different car but nowhere near too high strung for the street.

You have to remember my first Chevelle was an L78 car (4-speed, 4.10 posi) with large headers putting out likely 450+ HP and at the time I just couldn’t imagine having leaf springs! I’m sure the L78 Camaros back in the day had some sort of stabilizer bars on there to prevent wheel hop right?

Anyway, I’m not knocking Camaros in any way as I had a co-worker at GM in the 60’s who bought a brand new ‘67 Z28 which I will never forget! WOW! Rare too these days just like my old car! So it goes for us old guys. 🤨

I had a cousin who owned a 289 Mustang (‘65 or ‘66) with automatic console car that he drove the crap out of and it really had wheel hop....but that’s a Mustang!

The 67 camaros wheel hopped pretty bad. They had both shocks on the rear side of the axle with a flimsy single traction bar.
The 68's staggered the shocks and that helped some, but you still had to install slapper bars to control the hop.
Now the hot setup is Cal-trac bars but if you replace the mono-leaf spring they recommend, it can be a very stiff riding car.

Would that be a good reason to change to a 4 link? Seems so to me, never had good enough tires on my 67 to have wheel hop or maybe not enough power? Did a fairly long 1 wheel burnout that I do remember, don’t remember ever having wheel hop in the gen 2 T/A either and had that car over 7 yrs as a DD

Would you buy a rare Vette with a Jaguar rearend ? IDK, it just doesn't sit well with me to make drastic changes to a car that was so revered in it's day.
I accept that it doesn't ride as well. And yet the LS engine doesn't bother me ? I like the simplicity of leaf springs and it's easy to make them hook.

I had 2 Torino GT’s in the mid 70’s both had leaf springs, I put Yellow traction bars on both to stop wheel hop, one was a 68 the other was a 69 with a mild perf cam, the 68 rode terrible but the 69 didn’t and I put the exact same brand traction bars on both, 68 was way to stiff, I still have a pic of one of them lol

Yep, same with 17" wheels.....DOH!
