Dead Teslas

I don’t want any bumper stickers on my Chevelle but I’d put one on that said “I also have a set of Snow Tires” 😁

Just waiting for the whole EV fallacy to collapse.
ICE superiority has already been proven, Baker Electric Co. died about a hundred years ago.
The only real downside is that so much has been invested in this scam that when is crashes I fear the world economy crashes with it.
Which may be the real plan.

"Those who forget history are doomed to repeat it"

EV's are just like Ukraine, Israel, climate change, etc.

They only tell you what they want you to know.

Ercot sent notices to us all in the Houston area about reducing electric usage due to the cold spell we are currently having. How does charging legions of electric cars figure into that?

What I find curiously odd is LiFePO4 battery manufacturers are well aware of the charging issue (not being able to charge below 32F) and already know how to have battery heaters built inside the batteries to keep them above 32F, and yet they still don't do it.

They don't use LifePO4 in cars ? I think my Toyota is NiCad, but it's a hybrid, not full electric.

Manuf's all know the issues with batteries not charging below 32*. Tesla has a built-in battery warmer. Which is actually worse for EV owners as this is something the Manuf's are NOT telling their buyers. Currently, unknowing EV owners drive home and park their cars with 40% of charge remaining and don't plug in their cars. Then the temp drops below 32* and the battery warmers automatically turn on. They get up and go to start their EV and see the car at 0% due to the warmer running all night. Now the battery is 0 due to warmer and the super/rapid chargers will not work below a certain battery percent and the battery will not charge normally below a certain temp. a triple whammy.

Thats what they dont tell the buyers in Northern areas. But they will find out now.

Gas generator would not help, the batteries cannot charge when it is that cold.
You run the exhaust pipe from the generator to the battery pack, which is metal anyway, as the battery warms in certain areas the batteries charge.

The gen can also power a heater for the batteries which then switches to charging when Batts are warm.

We have windmills that freeze, low sun levels and snow on solar panels (ground and roof) and batteries that do not like cold. Not ready for prime time

Yeah, that's a bit overboard. I agree on some issues, but not all are issues. The right solution for the right geographic area is fine. Obviously up north solar doesn't do as well, and EV's will be an issue, but until the grid has been expanded, upgraded, and bullet proofed that's where it needs to start. For those building and using a smaller scale solar, it's viable and does work well. No technology is perfect, but using the correct one that'll yield the best results for the individual in an area is what's needed. Will EV's work on a grand scale? Nope, not a snowballs chance in hell they figure out how to extend range and create the infrastructure needed to support them.

Yeah, that's great in a pinch, but long term people are too stupid to be able to think for themselves let alone want to.
