I am going to rant.... I have been in the office 5 days a week even through the Covid BS and those people that are still work from home piss me off!!! You know they are screwing off, they don't answer IMs and emails promptly, after hours is no big deal to them and IMO they are whiney cry babies. Some even admit to cutting their grass, working on cars and doing home projects while on the clock, hell some are even working 2 or more jobs at the same time all at the same time!

Ask any of them to come into the office and they complain about the drive, getting up early... wah wah wah!! They don't mind after hours because they are 2 steps from their easy chair to their laptop where as some of us have to reorganize our days to accommodate their lazy butts then when they screw something up and make an after hours call for support they bitch that it will take me 1 hour to get to the office.

Everyone needs to have their asses in the office!!! Pay for the gas, bring your lunch and sacrifice your time, join the rest of the real world and suck it up sissies!

My daughter in law works from home and she does none of that crap. She works for Anthem.
She doesn't even answer her cell phone while working. She will answer a text thou.
I guess it all depends on the individual.

If they are set on a quota and know that they are being watched, monitored etc then some people can be productive but from what I have seen many people game the system.
At one time our company was hiring out of state workers and letting them be remote, no more.

Oh I`m sure they monitor the ones working from home.

I called the city bldg permitting dept a few weeks ago and while talking to a permit tech I could hear something going on, she apologized and said she was working from home and baby sitting her Grandson

10 years in June my daughter has been working from home for United Health Care. I don't think she screws off too much. I think they monitor her because she had to have a dedicated internet connection & computer.
But now if my other daughter had a work from home job it would be screw off time.

There might be certain jobs where it works ok. Enter “x” volume of computer code in a day etc. For most jobs I’m convinced that productivity would suffer greatly. I’ve been assured by some proponents of work at home that it doesn’t. BULLSHIT.
I pride myself in my work ethic and I know that if I were at home it would take longer to get things done because of distractions etc.
I know I work harder and am more conscientious than 95% of those losers so don’t tell me you aren’t loafing at home when no one is monitoring you and you have a ton of distractions.

It’s in business’s best interest to not have huge office space etc but I’m pretty sure I saw a study recently proving significant loss of productivity when people work at home.

People sure got entitled during covid. Buncha pussies put up a big stink here in Silicon Valley when they had to go back to the office.
