I lived in Charlotte for a month in the early 90’s right after hurricane Andrew hit Homestead Fl, my friends estranged wife called him up and said nobody was there doing Const type work, everybody hauled ass to Fl, living in Tent cities is not my thing and my friend asked if I wanted to go there and work, staying at his Exotic dancer wife’s house? I said Sure! I stayed for a month and had a Blast and made decent $$ always said if I ever moved out of Fl I’d move there, did get screwed up on the Beltline a few times lol
